A 1974 duo album by New York-born pianist and drummer Art Lande, a Grammy-nominated musician, and Norwegian reed player Jan Garbarek, who has recorded numerous masterpieces for ECM. Highlights include B1, where Garbarek’s rich, soaring soprano saxophone intertwines with the spiritual pulse of Lande’s delicate, crystalline acoustic piano, and B2, in which softly played piano and flute seem to drift through a vast field of silence. Throughout the album, the duo creates a beautifully abstract sound world, like an expansive grassland enveloped in deep mist.
