A 1982 album by the drumless trio of Art Lande (p, per), David Samuels (vib, per), and Paul McCandless (ss, flh, fl, etc.). All of the compositions were written by the three musicians. On pieces such as A2, where folk-inspired melodies unfold with a spiritual quality, the trio presents beautiful contemporary jazz with the transparency and depth characteristic of ECM, while also incorporating elements of modern classical music. Piano, vibraphone, and horns each take their own solos, yet their melodies remain perfectly balanced and gracefully intertwined. An exceptionally soothing album that evokes the sensation of time passing slowly and peacefully. Original German pressing.
