This is the second album released in 1976 by Art Lande, a composer/keyboardist from New York, USA, who has left many works for ECM. Quartet formation with Mark Isham (sax, trumpet), Bill Douglass (b,flute), Glenn Cronkhite (ds.perc). Composed by Isham based on traditional Chinese music, A1 is a long track that leads into a spiritual world from a flute solo with a vast wilderness landscape. As is the case with most of ECM's works, this is a wonderful content that allows you to be intoxicated by the transparent, fine-grained sound that reaches you.
