It’s Private Tonight
Blue Thumb Records, Inc. (US) 1973
BTS-43 (LP) Original pressing. Gatefold sleeve.
sleeve : EX-(PCOH, some wear on edge and corner.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noise.)
American blues guitarist Arthur Adams, who had been active since the 1950s and joined The Crusaders in the late ’60s, released his first solo album in 1973, co-produced with Tommy LiPuma. The record features contributions from Phil Upchurch (g), Wilton Felder (b), Joe Sample (el-p, clavinet, organ), and Paul Pumphrey (ds), among others. While firmly rooted in high-quality Black music blending blues, soul, funk, R&B, and jazz, it also carries subtle touches of country and folk, giving it the depth of a true classic. Every track is excellent, but the mellow numbers A3 and B2, showcasing Adams’s sweet vocals, are particularly outstanding. Original U.S. pressing.
A2: Happiness (Is All I See)
A3: Get On The Ground
B2: I Can't Believe My Eyes
B3: It’s Private Tonight
