After joining the Underground Musicians and Artists Association founded by Horace Tapscott in the mid-1960s, Arthur Blythe made his debut as a saxophonist and has played with Chico Hamilton, Gil Evans, Jack DeJohnette, McCoy Tyner, and many others. This is a leader album released in 1979. Recorded live at The Brook in New York, and joind with Abdul Wadud(cello)、Ahmed Abdullah(tp)、Bob Stewart(tuba)、Steve Reid(ds)、Muhamad Abdullah(per). The entire album is very listenable, from A1, which creates uninhibited yet songful improvisations with Wadud's cello, to B1/B2, where African local music and early jazz are deconstructed and reconstructed in an ever-expanding format. The recording is very good, with Blythe's lustrous-toned saxophone soaring high.

A1: Duet for two
B1: Metamorphosis
