After joining the Underground Musicians and Artists Association founded by Horace Tapscott in the mid-1960s, he made his debut and went on to play with Chico Hamilton, Gil Evans, Jack DeJohnette, McCoy Tyner and many others. This album was released in 1977 by Arthur Blythe, an American saxophonist who played in many groups including Chico Hamilton, Gil Evans, Jack DeJohnette, McCoy Tyner and many others. Sextet with Ahmed Abdullah (tp), Bob Stewart (tuba), Aboul Wadud (cello), Steve Reid (tap drums) and Muhamad Abdullah (per). The album is full of innovative ideas similar to those of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, such as B1, with its African percussion beats and mysterious swaying saxophone with an arabic feel, and B2, which evokes a dense jungle with its rumbling percussion and animal-sounding reeds.
B1: Lower Nile
B2: As of Yet
