This is a 1971 album by American saxophonist Arthur Jones, who was known for his collaborations with Archie Shepp and his involvement in the avant-garde jazz scene alongside musicians like Frank Wright and Noah Howard. The album features recordings from a trio session in Paris, France, in 1969 with Beb Guerin on bass and Claude Delcloo on drums. Jones, known for his distinctive phrasing and rich tone, plays the saxophone with a deep room echo that adds a fantastic touch. The rhythm provided by the two French musicians backing him up is also excellent. Among the numerous albums in the Actuel series, this one stands out for its rich, low-frequency sound. Highly recommended. It's an original French pressing.
