A compilation album released in 1983, featuring the greatest songs of Astor Piazzolla, the great bandone player of Argentine tango. In addition to the title track, the album includes “Soledad,” “Final,” and five pieces from the suite “Pulsacion. Piazzolla moved to Europe and established a modern tango style that absorbed elements of classical music and jazz, and this album shows his outstanding taste and talent as a composer. The B-side, “Pulsacion,” a suite of songs released in 1970, is especially recommended.
