An album released in 1988 by Astor Piazzolla, the representative bandoneon player from Argentina who revolutionized the tango world. This recording features the Orchestra of St. Luke’s under the direction of Lalo Schifrin, a fellow Argentine composer globally known for his numerous film scores, and was live-recorded in 1987 at the Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall, Princeton University, New Jersey. Side A's "Concierto Para Bandoneon" is a suite of three movements composed by Piazzolla in 1970, lasting over 20 minutes. Side B's "Tres Tangos" is also a three-movement suite newly composed for this concert. You will be thoroughly enchanted by Piazzolla's moving performance, which transcends his mature period to become a unique entity, playing passionate melodies alongside the elegant and alluring orchestra.

A2: Concierto Para Bandoneon 2. Moderato
B3: Tres tangos 3. Allegretto molto marcato
