A 2005 compilation album released on UK label Attack, gathering recordings by Jamaican keyboardist Augustus Pablo—often regarded as one of the first musicians to bring the melodica fully into popular music—produced by Bunny “Striker” Lee and recorded/mixed at King Tubby’s Studio. Throughout the album, Pablo’s melancholic melodica and keyboard lines drift mysteriously through deep, heavy bass, dry drum patterns, and Tubby’s unmistakable echo/reverb treatments. A superb collection of dub instrumentals, concise in form yet filled with deep resonance, space, and atmosphere. Different in character from his landmark album King Tubby's Meets Rockers Uptown, this set offers a compact and highly enjoyable taste of the tough Bunny Lee–King Tubby riddim sound, enriched by Pablo’s unmistakable melodic sensibility.
