Barre Phillips, one of the most innovative bassists in the free/experimental jazz scene, released this superb album on ECM in 1978. With a core instrumentation of core members such as Terje Rypdal (g,og), Dieter Feichtner (synth), and Trilok Gurtu (perc), this album is a spiritual and crossover oriented deep contemporary album that overturns the image of Phillips up to that time. The entire album is a deep contemporary jazz album with a spiritual and crossover orientation that overturns the previous image of Phillips. Gurtu's tabla and percussion add an ethnic feel, and Feichtner's synthesizer creates a deeper illusion and three-dimensional soundscape. Rypdal's ectric guitar is also amazing. All of the songs are superb. High-quality Japanese pressing produced by Trio Records.
