Released in 1980, this is a trio album by Barry Altschul, an American drummer who has worked with many important musicians such as Paul Bley, Chick Corea, Anthony Braxton, and Gato Barbieri. Recorded in his hometown of New York City with Ray Anderson and Mark Helias, Altschul uses a trap drum set as the main instrument, a special brass percussion instrument called a waterphone, and a variety of percussion to create a free-spirited, ethnic, and spiritual improvisation.
