A collaborative work between Belgian experimental musician Benjamin Lew and Steven Brown, the multi-instrumentalist and central figure of Tuxedomoon, it was released in 1985 on the Belgian label Crammed Discs. Marc Hollander, founder of the label and known for his work under the name Aksak Maboul, takes part extensively in the project. The album is a remarkable creation of deep experimental music that fuses an ambient sensibility rich in imagery with an adventurous spirit of sonic experimentation. Highlights include B5, where pad tones and voice collages—resembling a distant choir—are layered with a beautifully melancholic acoustic piano melody, and B2, in which finely programmed, moisture-laden synthesizer arpeggios interweave with wide-angle pads from clarinet and saxophone. While carrying a contemporary touch, the album’s sound design evokes profound visual landscapes. Its world view combines the modernism of Italian experimental musician Gigi Masin with the exoticism of Riccardo Sinigaglia. Original Belgian pressing.
