Bennie Wallace
Twilight Time
Blue Note (US) 1993
BT 85107 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(SOC, some light dirts.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly surface noises.)
American jazz saxophonist Bennie Wallace, who also played in Franco Ambrosetti's group and George Gruntz's Big Band, released this leader album on Blue Note in 1993. In addition to Jack DeJohnette (ds), Bernard Purdie (ds), Eddie Gomez (b), and John Scoffield (g), the album also features Dr. John on piano and organ. The album is a very enjoyable listen that shows a great love for the roots of black music, including early jazz, blues, R&B, rock 'n' roll, and boogie-woogie, and it is no wonder Dr. John is on this album. A gem for those who love Lester Bowie's 80's ECM work and Haruomi Hosono.
