This album was released in 1973 by Pandit Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi, a leading Hindustani classical vocalist and tanpura player, who was awarded India's highest honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 2008. Accompanied by Vasant Achrekar on the tabla, Bhimsen Joshi's lustrous vocals dance spiritually through a series of ragas, durga and taal, using his signature vibrato and scale khayal singing technique.
