Bill Evans, one of the leading pianists of modern jazz, who introduced the impressionistic taste of early 20th century musicians such as Debusy and Ravel into jazz and greatly influenced Herbie Hancok, Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett, released this album in 1977. The quintet is a stable lineup of Harold Land (ts), Kenny Burrell (g), Ray Brown (b), and Philly Joe Jones (ds). The quintet's impeccable playing on everything from Kenny Wheeler and Thad Jones' scores to standard numbers is a unique example of this era. This is a Victor-produced Japanese pressing, and the sound is very good. No obi/insert included.
