Bill Evans, one of the leading pianists of modern jazz, who incorporated the impressionistic taste of early 20th century musicians such as Debusy and Ravel into jazz and greatly influenced Herbie Hancok, Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett, released this album in 1961. This album was recorded live at the famous Village Vanguard in New York City in 1961 with Scott LaFaro (b) and Paul Motian (ds). The trio performs standard numbers, classic songs by Miles Davis and Cole Poter, and LaFaro's original score. This is an early pressing of the reissue released by OJC in 1984, with no barcode printed.
