This album, released in 1977 by American saxophonist Billy Harper, who has performed brilliantly with many renowned musicians' groups such as Gil Evans' Jazz Orchestra, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Lee Morgan, and has also showcased excellent performances in rare groove classics known for artists like Leon Thomas and Bobbi Humphrey. This is a Japan-exclusive project produced by Yoshio Ozawa, who has worked on numerous works for labels like Baystate and Denon Jazz. The recording session took place in New York in 1977 with a quintet consisting of Everett Hollins (tp), Mickey Tucker (p), Gregg Maker (b), and Malcom Pinson (ds). Harper's signature style shines through, starting with the melancholic melodies in the opening track (A1). The title track (B1), which exceeds 17 minutes, delivers an emotional performance that will leave you captivated. The album also boasts outstanding sound quality, making it highly recommended.
