Released in 1985, this album is by French guitarist Biréli Lagrène, who debuted in the early 1980s and has built his career around a playing style that carries forward the legacy of Django Reinhardt. Featuring fellow guitarists Vic Juris, Gaiti Lagrène, and Diz Disley, along with bassist Jan Jankeje, the album captures a live performance recorded at the Zelt-Festival held in Staufen, Germany, that same year. The repertoire ranges from Lagrène’s own compositions to pieces by Reinhardt and Chick Corea’s classic “Spain.” Throughout, the four guitarists weave a remarkably fluid and ever-shifting ensemble that resonates with effortless lightness.
