This album was released by American trumpeter Blue Mitchell in 1959 on Riverside Records, starting his career in R&B bands and later joining Horace Silver's group in 1958, where he went on to create many works with his own group. The album features a sextet with Cartis Fuller (tb), Jimmy Heath (ts), Winton Kelly (p), Sam Jones (b), and Philly Joe Jones (ds). Three of the nine tracks feature Mitchell's trumpet as a one-horn quartet. Tracks like the lively A3, with its delightful rhythm section and soaring trumpet, and the cool cover of Horace Silver's masterpiece on B4, showcase the ensemble's pleasing sound, enhanced by unique room echo effects. Released as a limited edition reissue from Victor's <Analog Meiseki-shu, Riverside Edition> series in 1993, complete with an obi and insert.
