The first leader album by American New York jazz drummer Bob Moses, who has left behind an impressive body of work devoted to African and other ethnic music, was released in 1975 on his own private label, Mozown Records. It features many of New York jazz's greatest players, including Randy Brecker, David Liebeman, Mike Lawrence, Eddie Gomez and Billy Hart. A hidden masterpiece of deep spiritual jazz with a worldview that inherits the spirit of John Coltrane and adds a touch of ethnic sentiment. This is one album that has not received much attention, but it is one of the gems of US spiritual jazz. Highly recommended for those who like Don Cherry, Pharoah Sanders and Black Jazz.
