An album released in 1954 on Blue Note by American pianist Bud Powell, highly regarded as a leading figure in bebop. This recording features a trio with George Duvivier (bass) and Arthur Taylor (drums), recorded in 1953 at WOR Studios in New York. Highlights of the album include an elegant performance of a standard composed by Vernon Duke in 1903 on A2, as well as a stunning duo section with Duvivier’s bowed bass following the theme on B1. Packed with remarkable moments, this is a must-hear record. This is a Japanese edition released in 1991 as part of Toshiba EMI’s Blue Note Original 5000 Series Collection.
