This album, released in 1958 on Blue Note, features the highly acclaimed American pianist Bud Powell, renowned as one of the pioneers of bebop. Powell collaborates with Sam Jones on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums in a trio setting. His trademark style shines through in the exceptional performances, with his left hand sticking to the chords while his right hand weaves melodies. While the uplifting grooves are enjoyable, the elegant slow ballads on tracks A3 and B3 are also recommended.
