An album released in 1959 by two reed players who had previously worked in Stan Kenton's group, Bud Shank and Bob Cooper. They are accompanied by Claude Williamson (p), Don Prell (b), and Chuck Flores (ds) in the quintet, with five tracks featuring Howard Roberts (g) in the sextet. The session unfolds with a refreshing groove typical of West Coast cool jazz throughout. While showcasing excellent performances from Shank on flute, Cooper on oboe, and bass clarinet, the guitar work of Roberts is also a highlight. This is a Japanese in 1992 as part of the "Pacific Jazz Collection" series by Toshiba EMI.
