This is the second album released in 1970 by Buenos Aires Hora 8, an Argentine folklore chorus group active between 1968 and 1980, with four original albums. This is the Brazilian version released in 1974. All the songs on this album are covers of famous songs by the Tango Nuevo master Astor Piazzolla, with vocal arrangements by the core member Horacio Corral, a baritone/bassist. With the double bass, percussion and baritone vocals coming from the far end of the stereo space, the tenor is placed in the left and the soprano in the right, a very beautiful choral tango that floats, sometimes rhythmically, sometimes gently. It is a very good introduction to contemporary tango, as it is easy on the ear. It is also a good introduction for those who want to listen to contemporary tango, and afterwards to the works of Astor Piazzolla.
