This is the album by American pianist Carla Bley and Canadian poet Paul Haines. This is the Japanese pressing of a 3 x LP box set released in 1972. 5 years in concept and 3 years in recording by Carla Bley, this jazz-rock opera was completed. Don Cherry, Gato Barbieri, Charlie Haden, Paul Motian, Mike Mantler, Jack Bruce, Karl Berger, Linda Ronstadt, and many more musicians and singers from various fields have come together to create a dazzling, chaotic work in which the music of the 30s, folk, country, psychedelic rock, Indian music, and even electronic music unfold like a crucible. It is well worth listening to.
