An American trumpeter, Carmell Jones, who showcased his skills in sessions with many musicians such as Bud Shank, Horace Silver, and Nathan Davis, released his debut album and a masterpiece in collaboration with tenor saxophonist Harold Land in 1961. This quintet features Frank Strazzeri on piano, Leon Pettis on drums, and the young 26-year-old Gary Peacock on bass. The album includes a lively cover of Duke Ellington's score in A1 and Jones' original composition in a laid-back, mystical style in B2. The session unfolds in a very relaxed atmosphere, making it a superb piece of work. This is the original US pressing.
