The first album released in 1984 by Carte De Sejour, a group formed by Arabs living in France. Produced by Steve Hillage, a guitarist known for his work with the psychedelic rock group Gong and his many solo works, Carte De Sejour is a product of the Rai music scene that flourished among Algerian immigrants in France at the time. The ethnic percussion beats and rough Arabic vocals/chorus create a mysterious space in B1, and the Islamic melody and screaming poetry of Oud and banjo in B5 are so strong that you can almost smell the ethnic spices on the dance floor. It's badass.
