Some More Changes
Ego Records (Germany) 1980

sleeve : EX(some very slightly dirts.)

The second album by the German jazz quintet Changes, released in 1980, features Uli Beckerfoff (tp) and Wolfgang Engstfeld (ts, ss), members of the experimental jazz-rock group Jazztrack, along with Ed Kroger (piano), Peter Weiss (dr) and Detlef Beier (b). This was released in 1980 on the excellent Ego Records label run by German saxophonist Joe Haider, who is in the spirit of John Coltrane and other black jazz musicians. This album is all about contemporary jazz in the style of straight-ahead modal jazz, with a nostalgic and pleasantly floating German feel. The three-dimensional soundscape of the album makes for a very pleasurable listening experience.
