This is an album released in 1958 by Charlie Rouse, an American tenor saxophonist who rose to prominence in the late 1940s with groups led by Tadd Dameron and Fats Navarro, and later in the late 1950s with his own group, releasing numerous works. The album features Rouse leading a quintet with Blue Mitchell (trumpet), Walter Bishop (piano), Earl May (bass), and Art Taylor (drums). With its relaxed performances filled with a bluesy feeling, including the gentle and flowing tracks A1/A2, this album is a pleasant listen. Although it was reissued in the US in 1990 by Original Jazz Classics, the sound quality remains excellent.

A1: Blue Farouq
