sleeve : EX (light wear on top edge and one corner)

This is a leader album released in 1982 by Chet Baker, a trumpeter who represents the American West Coast jazz scene, from the excellent Danish label SteepleChase. This is a live recording from his 1979 performance at the Montmartre jazz club in Copenhagen, featuring a drumless trio with Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (b) and Doug Raney (g). The album includes Irving Berlin's "How Deep is the Ocean," a hit from the 1930s, Wayne Shorter's "House of Jade," Cole Porter's famous "Love for Sale," and Earl Coleman's "This is Always." All are standard numbers, but Baker's fragile vocal and shallow-breathed trumpet are just right. It is no exaggeration to say that in his later years, Baker displayed a miraculous uniqueness, perhaps due to his life experiences. Please be aware that the condition of the record is not ideal. There is noticeable popping noise, especially on B2. The playback sound on side A is relatively good.

A1: How Deep is the Ocean
A2: House of Jade
B1: Love for Sale
B2: This is Always
