Needless to say, Chick Corea, alongside Keith Jarrett, is one of the pianists who represent ECM. This 1972 album features recordings made in 1969 and includes contributions from Hubert Laws (flute), Jack DeJohnette (drums), Horace Arnold (drums), Dave Holland (bass), and Woody Shaw (trumpet). Although uncredited, Bennie Maupin (tenor saxophone) also participated in the session. Highlights include the spiritually soaring interplay between Corea’s electric piano and Laws’ piccolo flute on track A2, and the title track B2, where Corea's fantastical electric piano intersects with active rhythms. While rooted in the post-bop style, this masterpiece showcases a unique depth and spirituality through its exceptional performances.
A2: Song of Wind
