Precious Gift - Ebun Pataki

This album was released in 1982 by Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey and group, His Inter-Reformers Band, who have been active since the 1960s and who, along with King Sunny Ade, are one of Nigeria's leading African singers. Ebenezer Obey's style of soft vocals over the characteristic beat of the talking drum, a key element of the traditional music of his Yoruba roots, and the flowing melody of the electric guitar is the essence of his music. As the title "Precious Gift" suggests, the theme of the song is a message to humanity, and Ebenezer Obey delivers a very warm and comfortable juju. The sound of the electric guitar dancing lightly in the acoustic space is extremely pleasant. The whole piece is excellent.
