A masterpiece album released in 1984 on Nimbus by the trio of pianist Curtis Clark—known for his contributions to Smoke’s 1973 MPS classic Everything and Julien Priester’s 1977 ECM release Polarization, as well as his work with David Murray and Oliver Lake—alongside bassist Robert Miranda, who has delivered outstanding performances in collaboration with Horace Tapscott, and drummer Sonship Theus. The album opens with A1, an over-18-minute spiritual jazz piece that begins with Miranda’s imaginative bass solo, setting the stage for a deeply unified and expressive performance by all three musicians. A brilliant work—highly recommended.
