A meditation music work by German composer and synthesizer player Claude Larson, released in 1982 on the prestigious library label Selected Sound. Despite being a library release, Side A features a single 23-minute track, while Side B contains two tracks, each over 11 minutes long. The A-side track, titled “Metal,” lives up to its name with a stunning hybrid of metallic-sounding synthesizers and percussion, creating an intense sonic landscape. Trippy synth sounds strike directly at the brain, and the development from the point where the beat kicks in midway is particularly impressive. Track B1, titled “Wood,” features a synth with a marimba-like timbre playing a 16-beat rhythm, while arpeggios resembling signals from outer space swirl throughout—yet another incredible sonic experience.

A1: Metal
B1: Wood
