Formed in San Francisco in 1968 around guitarist Larry Field, Cold Blood was a large ensemble that released this second album in 1970. The record kicks off with A1/A2, where funky grooves meet singer Sandy McKee’s husky, powerhouse vocals. On A3, a bluesy soul number, The Pointer Sisters join in on backing vocals. Blending rhythm & blues at its core with elements of soul, funk, and jazz—while adding a touch of psychedelic flair—the band delivers a classic slice of West Coast rock.
A1: Shop Talk
A2: Funky on My Back
