A duo album released in 1985 by the uniquely unconventional American guitarist David Torn—known for transcending jazz categories and blending rock and avant-garde in his own distinctive way, with connections to artists like Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian—and American percussionist Geoffrey Gordon. This is a masterpiece of abstract jazz, where ultra-aggressive electric guitar—rich in effects—and solid percussion unfold in a progressive manner. Stylistically reminiscent of Steve Tibbetts, the sound here pushes even further into avant-garde territory, making it a work that can also be appreciated from a rock perspective. Torn's guitar playing and tone are so unique that one can instantly recognize his signature sound. Highly recommended. Original German pressing.
