This album, released in 1982 by Dennis Russell Davies, a conductor who has led numerous orchestras since the early 1970s, features Davies performing solo piano compositions by his close associate Keith Jarrett. Recorded in 1977 in Ludwigsburg, Germany, this monumental work spans over 30 minutes across both sides. It presents a unique “exchange” in which Davies, primarily a conductor, performs pieces by Jarrett, who is a pianist. This album showcases Davies' profound understanding and beautifully lyrical interpretations of Jarrett's compositions, making it a superb and exceptional recording.
