Dežo Ursiny, Ivan Štrpka
Nové Mapy Ticha
Opus (Czechoslovakia) 1980
9116 0817 (LP) w/insert.
sleeve : EX(slightly wear and collapse on corner.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noise. some very slightly hairlines that does not affect to sounds.)
A rare record has just arrived. This 1979 album comes from the Czech duo Dežo Ursiny and Ivan Štrpka, whose 1987 masterpiece Na Ceste Domov was featured in the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION. The vocals may feel a bit rough around the edges, but the trippy sound built from synthesizers, electric piano, and organ, along with the intricately structured arrangements, creates a superb progressive flow. The album presents a uniquely crafted art-rock vision reminiscent in some ways of Argentine rock and Polish’ artist Niemen, making it a cult classic throughout.
