A landmark album released in 1973 by South African jazz pianist and composer Dollar Brand, also known as Abdullah Ibrahim, through the Enja label. Active since the 1960s, Ibrahim has left behind numerous masterpieces centered on themes of Africa. This album, one of his defining works, features solo performances of piano and flute, entirely performed by Brand. It powerfully conveys his deep connection to his homeland South Africa, his African roots, his protest against racial discrimination, and messages of love and peace inspired by Islamic teachings.
