This is a 1974 album by Dollar Brand, a jazz pianist and composer from South Africa who has been active since the 1960s and has produced many outstanding works with Africa as a theme. The album features a stellar lineup, including Cecil Bridgewater (trumpet), Enrico Rava (trumpet), Charles Sullivan (trumpet), Kiani Zawadi (trombone), Sonny Fortune (flute, alto sax), Carlos Ward (flute, alto sax), Roland Alexander (harmonica, tenor sax), John Stubblefield (tenor sax), Hamiet Bluiett (baritone sax), Cecil McBee (bass), and Roy Brooks (percussion). It's a magnificent masterpiece that showcases Afro-Avant-Jazz with a rich horn ensemble and a narrative-rich progression. It's exceptional.
