Anthem for the New Nations
Denon (Japan) 1978
YX-7537-ND (LP) w/insert(WC).
sleeve : EX-(some wear on edge and corner, color-faded on side.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noise.)

A solo album released in 1978 by South African jazz pianist and composer Dollar Brand, who had been active since the 1960s and created numerous masterpieces centered on African themes. Produced by Yoshio Ozawa, this Japan-only release was recorded that same year at the Nippon Columbia studio. Brand’s vision—carrying hopes for the future not only of his homeland of South Africa but of the entire African continent—is powerfully articulated in his melodies. His characteristic clear resonance and strong, percussive attack are on full display. A wonderful performance, and it was never issued outside Japan.
