Recorded in Paris, France in 1969 and released in 1969 as the first album of the Actuel series under BYG, this is a historical masterpiece by Don Cherry with his old friend from the Ornette Colemane group, drummer Ed Blackwell. The album opens with Don Cherry's pocket trumpet that screams freaky like an elephant's cry and Ed Blackwell's furious drumming in response to the trumpet. This is a work that could be called the starting point of the ethnic jazz that Don Cherry will pursue in the future. This is a reissue of the French version with an unknown release date.
