Leader album released on Blue Note in 1960 by Donald Byrd, who began in hard bop and pursued new sounds in mode and soul-jazz. Quintet with Jackie McLean (as), Duke Person (p), Doug Watkins (b) and Lex Humphries (ds). A1 is gently swinging boogie beat, impressive theme and Person's bright backing piano, A3/B1 are relaxed, bluesy swing, and Byrd's soulful trumpet playing. US reissue in 1973.
