An album released in 1975 by American pianist Duke Jordan, who honed his skills under musicians like Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, and Art Farmer, and graced the jazz scene from the 1950s onwards alongside players like Sonny Stitt and Stan Getz. The album features a quintet with Richard Williams (trumpet), Charlie Rouse (tenor sax), Sam Jones (bass), and Al Foster (drums), recorded at C.I. Recording Studios in New York that same year. Except for A2, which is a Duke Ellington standard, all tracks are original compositions by Jordan. The album showcases a relaxed, consistent bop, including tracks like A3 and B2, where Williams' leisurely grooving trumpet stands out. It's a fine work for a laid-back listen.
A3: Sultry Eve
B2: Tall Grass
