An album released in 1955 by the American pianist Duke Jordan, a master who honed his skills under the likes of Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, and Art Tatum, and who enriched the jazz scene of the 1950s onwards alongside Sonny Stitt and Stan Getz. The album was released on Savoy Records. The A-side features a trio session with Percy Heath (b) and Art Blakey (ds), while the B-side includes a quintet session with Heath and Blakey joined by Eddie Bert (tb) and Cecil Payne (bs). These recordings are considered precious gems from the 1950s, during what is often referred to as Duke Jordan's underrated period, before he gained renewed appreciation during his time in Europe in the 1970s, based in Denmark. Jordan's distinctive performances shine brightly, supported by the excellent rhythm section. This is a Japanese reissue in 1993 as part of the "The Supreme Collection of Savoy Part II" series by Nippon Columbia.
