American pianist Duke Jordan, a virtuoso who honed his skills under Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, and Art Farmer, and who graced the jazz scene from the 1950s onwards alongside Sonny Stitt and Stan Getz, released this album in 1975 through the esteemed Danish jazz label SteepleChase. Similar to his previous work "Flight to Denmark," recorded in 1970, this album features recordings from 1973 with drummer Ed Thigpen and Danish bassist Mads Vinding. The album primarily consists of original scores by Jordan, as well as standard numbers composed by Thelonious Monk and George Gershwin. It is an outstanding performance where the trio's exquisite ensemble shines precisely because of its orthodox style. Japanese edition with obi and insert included.
