This 1989 album is by Duo Due, a unit formed by Austrian brothers Wolfgang Muthspiel, a guitarist who has collaborated with Dave Liebman, Peter Erskine, Paul Motian, and Gary Peacock and is still active today, and Christian Muthspiel, a trombonist/pianist. It features live recordings from performances in three Austrian cities the previous year. The duo, mainly featuring guitar and trombone, also utilizes synthesizers and guitar synthesizers to deliver imaginative performances. The lyrical soundscapes that appear and disappear amidst an avant-garde inclination are truly wonderful. The fact that synthesizers are used in almost all tracks is also a plus. Highly recommended. Fans of Bill Frisell should definitely check this out.
