sleeve : VG (WC, SPSE/TEOC: tear and cut of tape and stickers)

Released in 1974, this is the second leader album by American trumpeter Eddie Henderson, a true child of electric Miles who first came to prominence in Herbie Hancock’s group. Recorded around the same period, and in the same studio, as his debut leader album Realization and Herbie Hancock’s Sextant, the album features many of the same musicians, including Bennie Maupin, Herbie Hancock, Buster Williams, Billy Hart, and Patrick Gleeson, suggesting that the sessions were likely part of the same creative flow. Musically, it is also strongly marked by the influence of Miles Davis, with Henderson’s trumpet feeling almost like an expanded apparition of Miles himself. A towering masterpiece of deep, spacey, black electric jazz.

Please note that this copy came from the archive of a certain broadcasting station and is not in good condition. There is an approximately 1 cm scratch running parallel to the groove at the beginning of B1, causing intermittent tick noise.

A1: Moussaka
