Elvin Jones Jazz Machine
Live at Pit Inn
Polydor (Japan) 1985
28MJ 352 (LP) w/insert.
sleeve : EX(some slightly dirts.)
media : EX+/EX+(some slightly noises.)

Album released in 1985 by American drummer Elvin Jones, who emerged on the Detroit jazz scene in the late '40s, and from the mid-'50s onwards was the member of John Coltrane's group, showcasing his skills on numerous historic recordings. This is including live recording source at Pit Inn in Shinjuku. The quintet features Richard Davis (b), Pat LaBarbera (ts,ss), Sonny Fortune (ts,fl) and Fumio Karashima (p). The album opened with the number A1, written by Jones for George Coleman, followed by the spiritual tune A2, composed by his wife Keiko Jones and included on the classic album Coalition, released on Blue Note in 1971. This is a live recording with a lot of enthusiasm, and includes the standard number B1, which John Coltrane also performed as part of his repertoire, and other very deep and powerful performances. Recommended.

A2: Sihnjitu
B2: Zange
